UMA SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

Universitas Medan Area (UMA) affirms its commitment to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through various programs and policies that are integrated within the campus environment. UMA has previously been actively involved in UI GreenMetric and has also established a GreenMetric management team that is under the direct responsibility of the Rector and chaired by the Dean of the Faculty of Biology. This management structure consists of six divisions, namely Environmental Management & Infrastructure, Energy & Climate Change, Waste, Water, Transportation, as well as Education & Research, each of which plays a role in the development of a sustainable campus.

In 2024, UMA participated in the THE Impact Ranking as a form of the institution’s commitment to contributing to global SDGs indicators. Until now, UMA continues to strengthen sustainability efforts through the enhancement of governance, education, and research oriented toward social and environmental impacts, thereby being able to provide real contributions to sustainable development at the local and global levels.
