Medan Area University (UMA) has officially launched its International Internship Program in collaboration with Japan World Business as part of its efforts to prepare students for global competition. The launch event, held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, on the UMA campus, was attended by various dignitaries from within and outside the country.

Mr. Kenji Kondo, Overseas General Manager, and Mr. Kaito Yunoki, Person in Charge (PIC) of Japan World Business, were present from Japan to support this strategic partnership. Both hope that this program can serve as a bridge for Indonesian students, especially those from UMA, to gain work experience in professional, internationally recognized Japanese companies.

In addition to representatives from Japan World Business, the event was also attended by representatives from Hirotust Training Center, including Mr. Zubair Abdul Rasyid, Mr. Oky Effendy Siregar, and Mr. Muhammad Usman, who provided support through training and mentoring before departure.

UMA Rector, Prof. Dr. Dadan Ramdan, M.Eng., M.Sc., was also present to give a speech and appreciation for this collaboration. In his speech, he emphasized that this internship program is an implementation of UMA’s internationalization vision. In addition, this event was also attended by Vice Rector IV, Dr. Ir. Rahmad Syah, M.Kom., ASEAN Eng., APEC Eng., and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Eng. Supriatno, ST, MT, who invited students to actively participate in this program.

Through this collaboration, UMA is committed to creating learning opportunities that are not only limited to the classroom, but also in the international industry, hoping that this internship program will open wider opportunities for UMA students in the future.
