Strengthening Academic Networks through a Visit to the University of Malaya Family Research and Development Center (UMFRDC)

On April 22, 2025, a delegation from the Faculty of Psychology, University of Medan Area (UMA) led by the Dean, Dr. Siti Aisyah, M.Psi., Psychologist, together with Prof. Hasanuddin, Ph.D, and the Head of the Undergraduate Psychology Study Program, Faadhil, M.Psi., Psychologist, conducted an academic visit to the University of Malaya Family Research and Development Center (UMFRDC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The visit was conducted to explore opportunities for international research collaboration between two institutions that share a strong commitment to the development of psychology and family well-being. In a warm and collaborative atmosphere, both parties discussed alignment of visions and potential synergies in developing cross-border research.

The main focus of the discussion was planning a collaborative research project on family issues in Southeast Asia, with the goal of publication in a reputable international journal. Through this partnership, the Faculty of Psychology at UMA and UMFRDC are optimistic about producing innovative scientific contributions that will have a real impact on strengthening the role of families in society.
