The Faculty of Psychology, University of Medan Area (UMA) has officially established international collaboration with the Faculty of Education, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) through the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI) or Statement of Intent. This activity was held on Monday, April 21 2025, in the UKM Education Faculty Telesession room.

The signing of the LoI was carried out by the Dean of the UMA Faculty of Psychology, Dr. Siti Aisyah, M.Psi., Psychologist, with Dr. Khairul Azhar Jamaludin as Deputy Dean of Industry & Community Networks (HEJIM), who represents the Dean of the Faculty of UKM Education.

Also attending the event were a number of UKM academics, including Dr. Hanita Hanim Ismail as International Relations Program Coordinator, Dr. Faridah Mydin Kutty, Dr. Muhammad Syawal Amran, and Prof. Madya Dr. Shahlan Surat as Chair of the Center for Learning and Teaching Innovation Studies and LoI coordinator from UKM.

This collaboration aims to strengthen academic collaboration between the two institutions, particularly in the field of Educational Psychology. This LoI is expected to foster synergy in the development of joint research and publications, the exchange of expertise, and the implementation of various academic programs and other scientific activities.

With this partnership, both faculties hope to create a sustainable positive impact, both in improving the quality of education and making real contributions to the development of psychology at the regional and international levels.
